After studying the way people used clocks, Nelson came to the conclusion that the time could be read by the relative position of the hands, making it possible to dispense with numerals. Moreover, since most people used wristwatches, he assumed that wall clocks had become decorative elements in interiors.

With his Wall Clocks collection (1949-1960), George Nelson created a wide range of watches, some of which have become true icons of the 1950s.
