A cross between a chaise longue and a canapé, an object of design and the authentic reflection of a lifestyle, Tube Chair defies time with its emblematic, mutable appearance.

Created in 1969, the seat is based upon a completely de-structured design: In fact, it is composed of four hollow cylinders made with a rotational moulding process to obtain interchangeable elements that can be assembled assembled at will and fastened together in a compact manner. From the backrest to the seat, each unit can be placed in multiple positions, giving life to an element of design that reflects one’s individual needs and tastes.

Colombo in 1966 said: “things have to be flexible”, “my kitchen can be easily moved when not in use and closes creating a compact volume like a box”. Minikitchen is a complete kitchen unit on wheels, electrically operated and including everything you need for a kitchen, even in miniature: refrigerator, ceramic hob, drawers for pots and plates for 6 people, pull-out tray, sockets for small appliances, cutting boards. It won the silver medal at the XIII Trienale di Milano in 1964, and was exhibited at MoMA, in the legendary 1972 exhibition “Italy: The New Domestic Landscape”, where it is part of the permanent collection.
