Muecke Table

Jonathan Muecke approaches both furniture and sculpture with the goal of uncovering and articulating the inherent logic of his materials. The Muecke Wood Table evolved from his desire to celebrate all characteristics of wood, including the end grain. He succeeded by rounding wood into dowels and devising a joinery method to connect them where they overlap. “You can understand the piece of wood,” he says. “It’s not disguised. It’s there for you to understand again and again.”
