Designed in 1961 but never put into production until today, the EK61 Opal Pendant is now released in glass and wood. Designed by the son of prominent Danish designer Kaare Klint, Esben Klint’s understated and elegant pendant was originally imagined in pleated plastic. Too complicated to produce at the time, the design remained in the family archives until now.
The modern version is crafted with a pleated elliptical form of blown opal glass. The distinctive oak details, reminiscent of traditional Chinese lanterns, are meticulously hand-turned and polished for a classic expression. Available in three sizes, the EK61 emits a soft, indirect light thanks to its careful combination of classic materials.
