Patricia Urquiola: Creativity, innovation and sensitivity in design
Born in Oviedo in 1961 and based in Milan, Patricia Urquiola studied architecture in Madrid and graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan under the guidance of Achille Castiglioni. From the beginning of her career, her work has stood out for its multidisciplinary approach, bringing together architecture, industrial design and conceptual art.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with brands such as Moroso, Cassina, B&B Italia, Kartell, Flos and Glas Italia, bringing a fresh and intuitive perspective to each project. Her style is characterised by the innovative use of materials, respect for craftsmanship and a strong sensitivity towards form, colour and texture.
Some of her most representative designs include:
- Lavenham Executive Chair – Castors for DePadova: a contemporary reinterpretation of the office chair, featuring a padded backrest and excellent ergonomic comfort, ideal for sophisticated workspaces.
