Calvet Armchair

Antoni Gaudí is globally admired beyond the realm of architecture, entering into pieces like the Calvet armchair. Designed in 1900-1901 for the Calvet House in Barcelona, the oak armchair is handcrafted the same way it was in Gaudi’s time. Five pieces are fitted together to form the thick neck, arched handles and heartshaped backrest of the carving body that explores Gaudí’s unique artistry and expressive force.
